UTILISATION SUGGÉRÉE

What is the difference between TheraNatal Core and TheraNatal OvaVite?
TheraNatal Core is a once-daily vitamin and mineral tablet for any woman trying to conceive.

TheraNatal OvaVite is a 3-pill-per-day formula for women seeking extra egg quality support. It includes the same tablet as TheraNatal Core, plus two coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) softgels, which help support cellular energy production for healthy egg quality.

How is TheraNatal Core different from other preconception prenatal supplements?
TheraNatal Core is specifically formulated with key nutrients to prepare your body for pregnancy. We carefully chose each nutrient, form, and dose to best support your nutrient needs while you’re trying to conceive and during early pregnancy. Here’s what sets TheraNatal Core apart:

  • 100% methylated folate and vitamin B12
  • Vitamin A as 100% beta-carotene
  • 25 mcg (1,000 IU) of vitamin D3

    Should I continue taking TheraNatal Core once I find out I'm pregnant?
    TheraNatal Core supports your nutrient needs while you’re trying to conceive and during early pregnancy (through your first trimester). Before beginning your second trimester, it is best to switch to a prenatal vitamin formulated for pregnancy, like TheraNatal Complete or TheraNatal One.
    Can I take other nutritional supplements along with TheraNatal Core?
    Yes, certain supplements can be taken with TheraNatal Core. However, TheraNatal Core is a complete vitamin and mineral supplement, so do not take another multivitamin or prenatal while taking TheraNatal Core.
    Does TheraNatal Core interact with any prescription medications?
    The list below includes some of the more common potential interactions. This is not meant to be a comprehensive list or take the place of advice from your healthcare provider. As with any dietary supplement, discuss with your pharmacist and/or healthcare team to determine whether TheraNatal Core can be taken with your medications.

    Antibiotics: Taking calcium, magnesium, iron, and/or zinc (in TheraNatal Core) along with antibiotics can decrease the absorption and effectiveness of the antibiotic. Depending on which antibiotic is prescribed, you may need to separate TheraNatal Core from the antibiotic, as indicated below.

  • Cephalexin (Keflex): Take at least 3 hours before TheraNatal Core.
  • Tetracycline antibiotics (doxycycline, minocycline, demeclocycline): Separate by 4 hours.
  • Quinolone antibiotics (Ciprofloxacin (Cipro), gemifloxacin (Factive), levofloxacin (Levaquin), Moxifloxacin (Avelox)): Separate by 6 hours.

    Levodopa, Carbidopa: Taking iron (in TheraNatal Core) might decrease the absorption of these medications. Take at separate times of the day.

    Oral bisphosphonates (i.e., alendronate (Fosamax), etidronate (Didronel), risedronate (Actonel), ibandronate (Boniva), tiludronate (Skelid)): Magnesium, calcium, and iron (in TheraNatal Core) can decrease the absorption of these medications. Separate by 2 hours.

    Penicillamine (Cuprimine, Depen): Iron (in TheraNatal Core) may decrease absorption of this medication. Separate by 2 hours.

    Thyroid hormone (levothyroxine, Synthroid): Minerals in TheraNatal Core can reduce absorption of thyroid hormone medications. Separate the tablet and thyroid hormone by at least 4 hours.

    Medications for overactive thyroid (methimazole, propylthiouracil): Iodine (in TheraNatal Core) may change the effects of these medications. Consult with your healthcare provider if you’re taking medication for an overactive thyroid along with TheraNatal Core.

    Blood thinners: Consult your healthcare provider prior to use if you are taking blood thinners.
