LATEST RESEARCH UPDATE: A recent systematic review and meta-analysis of eight randomized controlled trials (RCTs) summarized the effects of myoinositol (MI) supplementation on controlled ovarian hyperstimulation (COH) variables (gonadotropin use, duration of stimulation, and number of canceled cycles) in both patients with and without PCOS, undergoing IVF. The analysis of six studies comparing MI to control found a significant reduction in length of COH and gonadotropin dose, without differences in canceled cycle rate, number of total and mature oocytes per cycle, and clinical pregnancy rate per cycle. In summary, inositol reduced the amount of gonadotropins used in both PCOS and non-PCOS women and reduced COH length in women with PCOS. For more information, check out the full abstract here.
